To start, vehicle is a 2015 Cruze LT with the 1.4 Turbo, approx 154,000 miles. About a year or year and a half ago I had my water pump replaced at a local reputable shop. Seems like ever since then, my pump fails within a couple months or 4k miles. Every single time I am told the weep hole is leaking on the pump.

Do not use RTV. When replacing the water pump, use the OEM pump, OEM gasket, replace the 2 TTY bolts, and torque the bolts down systematically and incrementally to a final torque of 71 in-lbs. If you dont do that, theres a good chance it will have problems. Thats why people have so many issues after replacing the water pump.
